Martin is not in Madrid

Surrounded by Spain…

Yes, we were not only in Spain and Morocco in this trip, but also in UK. The visit of Gibraltar was very short just few hours as we had to be in Algeciras before 7 PM to catch the ferry to Tangier.

In Tangier, my plan was perfect, we will catch the last ferry, we will have 2 hours to move from the ferry terminal to the train terminal and take the night train to Marrakech. But we had a bad luck. The ferry was about one hour delay, so my perfect plan to catch the train crashed and we had to stay in a hotel. The hotel was probably the worst one I have ever stayed in. We were scared to use it, so much mess. But it was just €15, and Tangier is quite scary city as we have seen, and besides that we wanted to take the early morning train, so we better took the hotel, and stayed.

And few tips if you want to cross the sea to Africa in a ferry. Don’t go from Algeciras, go from Tarifa. It’s cheaper, and faster. We paid about €46 from Algeciras to Tangier, and €32 on way back from Tangier to Algeciras. Also if you want to catch the night train as we wanted to, go rather sooner, all the ferries we took were delayed.
