The last day of the weekend in Nový Hrozenkov, we went to a small trip (as usually) to a tourist cottage Kohútka on the Czech-Slovak border. MAP and website.

Weighlifting competition in Nový Hrozenkov

Nový Hrozenkov is a village of weightlifters. As we have learned, the people don’t do anything else than lift these heavy weights. At the first look they are much more robust than the normal population. Just have a look at the women how strong they are!

At every village even, there must be a grilled pig…

So how does this competition looks like?

Just before we left, somebody found a Pavel’s grandpa photo (he used to be a photographer, some photos are here).

So we decided to make the similar photo as well. We didn’t have these many dwarfs, but we had many empty beer bottles, so the replacement was quite obvious. You can have a look at the photos or if you scroll down, there is an exclusive animation of building the composition.

Day 3. The last day of the weekend. Some people would say that weekend has just two days, but not here! We had three days weekend. So we did nothing, but what would you expect? We went to the lake, some of us swam. Dog was swimming as well.

The second day we woke up, and got up early, and this day we had breakfast like normal working people. Just some healthy shit or what. Not worth loosing words. But a little later we went upstairs to wake up Petr. We dressed up in brand new pink Pucicat t-shirts that Martin made. There is a picture on them. Petr in the last year of elementary school. Beautiful boy. We made this ritual a new tradition, and so we will wear the pinks pucicat t-shirts every year. But anyway, as last year we thought that Peťa would appreciate a little shot in the morning. Like a real man. No girls waking him up, they are just for kids. For the real men, there is alcohol!

Before noon we set off to a small trip to the lodge Kohútka up in the mountains. After two hours walk we stayed in the restaurant for a lunch.

When we arrived, we had a great dinner of grilled meats, hermelín, and some mushrooms we picked in the forest.

On Friday, after great breakfast and lunch in Uherské Hradiště, we finally got on the road. We were waiting Jiří in some (probably famous) restaurant in Hradiště. Jíří came just on time (just kidding, he was late, but this depends on the point of view like in holiday’s one it’s no deal…). We passed Zlín, Baťa’s skyscraper, some tractors on the way… And sometime in the afternoon we finally arrived to Nový Hrozenkov, where Pavel’s grandpa has a small house. So welcoming spring could begin.

Pavel and Lilibox chose to get train. Later that day some more people came like Tomáš, Mimoň, another Tomáš, Peťa (without his Mercedes – he is not a Gipsy king anymore), and some more… I even don’t know who was there and who was not.

Just after we arrived, we went to shop to buy some food. Then Martin started cooking his great Guláš (I reckon, the best one I ate in the past year), we opened the first beers, and the day could begin again… The rest of the day we were either in the pub or at Pavel’s house. I don’t remember more, and to be honest I don’t want… It was just great, and so I will omit the details…

Like every year we gathered at Pavel’s old weekend house in Nový Hrozenkov, beautiful village in the middle of Beskydy mountains to get together with my friends, drink couple of beers and grill some meat. This year the meeting was named “Meeting of friends of pencils”, and was surprisingly piecful. No Nutela licking, no hot beer drinking, no heads in toilet, no pork legs, no throwing 5 crowns coins on stomach, no plaster peeling off, no big shots of rum… And we had drunk just about 30 beers. Where are the times when 3 cags was not enough? [-;

Few words to morning rituals. Some people think that the real men when wake up, they fuck the girl on the right or left side, then shave, take a shower to look really well. That they have corn flakes with milk for breakfast. That when going to work they smile to the world. Like, you know, some american actors. No, that’s not that! These actors are so childish! How can somebody breakfast corn-flakes with milk? No way! The real men wake up in the afternoon with red eyes, when they roll out of their sleeping bags, when they open eyes, they take a big morning shot. How did you end the last day, you should start a new one!

We also had some guns there. Well, one training air rifle. And as I’m shy person, and specially as I don’t like when somebody shows off, I have to say that I won the competition. Although my hands are horribly shaking, I was the best one. Yes, I won! [-; You know it’s not all in hands, but the most important part is in head. It’s all about to point at the target. Wait a long time. Don’t laugh. Move the rifle up and down, and shot in the right moment.
